Crispy Garlic Lumpia Chips (Printable)

Thin, crunchy lumpia strips infused with garlic and spices for a tasty, golden snack.

# What you need:

→ Lumpia Wrapper

01 - 10 lumpia (spring roll) wrappers

→ Garlic & Oil

02 - 3 tablespoons neutral oil (canola or vegetable)
03 - 4 large garlic cloves, minced
04 - 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
05 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

→ Garnish (optional)

06 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or chives

# Directions:

01 - Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (180°C) for 3 minutes.
02 - Stack the lumpia wrappers and cut into thin strips or triangles approximately 1.2 inches (3 cm) wide.
03 - Warm the oil gently in a small saucepan over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
04 - Place the cut wrappers in a large bowl. Drizzle the garlic-infused oil over them, sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper, and toss to coat evenly.
05 - Lay the coated wrappers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Fry in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
06 - Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the chips are golden brown and crispy.
07 - Remove chips onto a wire rack to cool. Repeat frying with remaining wrappers.
08 - Optionally sprinkle with chopped parsley or chives. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It turns something simple into something you cannot stop eating, and youll only need a few ingredients you probably already have.
  • The garlic oil soaks into every fold of the wrapper, so each bite is crispy, salty, and deeply aromatic without any heaviness.
02 -
  • Do not skip the cooling step after making the garlic oil, or the wrappers will turn soggy instead of crispy.
  • Shaking the basket halfway through is the difference between evenly golden chips and burnt edges with pale centers.
03 -
  • Use kitchen scissors instead of a knife to cut the wrappers, it is faster and gives you cleaner edges without tearing.
  • If your air fryer runs hot, lower the temperature to 170°C and add an extra minute to avoid burning the garlic bits.
